What the customer required

Limal is an operator of an e-shop called Rozbaleno.cz (unpacked). It is a store specializing in selling already unpacked goods from other e-shops.

When clients return the products, for e-shops it is better to sell these goods to Limal.

Then Limal will sell it on auction portals and on its own e-shop Rozbaleno.cz.

This market focus makes pressure on Limal logistics because each product that is received is basically different.

The employees of Limal had to take pictures of each product and then they uploaded it on the server and it was very time consuming to put tags on these products.

Limal needed some solution that would make this process more efficient.

What we implemented

We have created a native android app which is then running on Limal’s cameras (Galaxy Camera GC100).

In this app users will set up the resolution and define the FTP server.

Internal Limal ERP system uploads settings to the FTP server about each product which operator should take a photo of (name, where to store product photo, etc.).

After making each photo, the application extracts those settings from the FTP server and applies them to a new product photo. So using the application operator is able to create products description much faster, than in case such a job would be done manually.

When there is no internet connection the app will use default settings.

Internal Limal ERP system uploads settings to the FTP server about each product which operator should take a photo of (name, where to store product photo, etc.).

So Limal’s ERP database is updating much faster, than in case such settings would be applied manually to each photo.

Results

It makes the whole process of presenting the goods a lot easier and more efficient. Which is crucial for Limal company in order to grow its business.
